Alexandra Grishanova
Associate
Alexandra is a commercial litigator with particular expertise in securities litigation and administrative law. She has acted in complex commercial disputes, securities class actions, regulatory and compliance matters, and white-collar cases involving allegations of financial misconduct such as fraud, insider trading and market manipulation, as well as judicial reviews and appeals. Alexandra has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, the New Brunswick Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Canada (on leave applications), and multiple regulatory bodies across the country.
Alexandra has extensive experience with regulatory and disciplinary matters involving capital markets participants, insurance agents and accountants. She has acted for and against financial services and professional regulators including CIRO and its predecessors, the Ontario Securities Commission, the Capital Markets Tribunal, the British Columbia Securities Commission, FSRA, the Insurance Councils of British Columbia and Alberta, and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario. She is highly knowledgeable about the procedures and decision-making processes of regulatory and administrative bodies and has provided advice to regulators on policy and procedural matters.
Before joining TAP Law, Alexandra was a lawyer and Director of Legal Research at Crawley MacKewn Brush LLP, a leading securities litigation boutique.
Prior to commencing practice, Alexandra served as a judicial law clerk to the judges of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including the Divisional Court and Commercial List.
